This Food Safety Level 1 training course is designed for all food handlers, particularly those who are new to working with food.
The course introduces participants to food safety and hygiene issues and is based on the criteria set down by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
Poor food safety and hygiene can result in food poisoning, loss of customers, fines and business closure.
Good personal hygiene, good handwashing practice and safe handling of food, is essential to running a successful food business.
This training course also deals with allergen awareness, and law enforcement in regard to food safety in Ireland.

FSAI Standards
FSAI Food Safety Level 1 guidelines specify the standards expected of employees who have been working for less than three months in a food business.
The FSAI Food Safety Level 2 guidelines describe the standards expected of those who have been working in a food business for more than three months.
These FSAI standards are required food safety skills, which employees must be trained in, to ensure that they handle food safely.
