This Abrasive Wheels course can be taken as an e-learning course with practical assessment to follow, or delivered by one of our tutors through a live video conference TEAMS call, including a remote practical assessment for immediate certification.
Certification is for 3 years
This course covers the inspection and mounting of abrasive wheels for angle grinders, bench grinders, con-saws and chop saws. This course is delivered by an instructor with over 30 years of experience in abrasive wheels use.

Abrasive Wheels Risks
Abrasive Wheels Operatives, must be trained in the correct inspection and mounting of abrasive wheels
The hazards ands risk associated with abrasive wheels use can have catastrophic consequences, if wheels are not checked and inspected before mounting, if the incorrect wheel is mounted, and if the safe operating RPM of the wheel is less than that of the operating RPM of the abrasive wheels machine.
Over-rotated wheels can shatter into small segments, and be ejected from the machine at high velocity, causing serious injuries, which can be fatal to the operator, or anyone in close proximity.

- Hazards when working with abrasive wheels
- Selecting the correct wheel for the task
- Inspection and testing of abrasive wheels
- Guarding of grinding and cutting operations
- Dressing and truing of abrasive wheels
- Equipment components
- Safe mounting of abrasive wheels
- Successful trainees receive a 3 year certificate.
