Basic First Aid Course

MKD Health & Safety Basic First Aid Course is a 4 hour course designed for anyone requiring basic knowledge of First Aid. This course enables trainees to deliver basic first aid in the home or the workplace. On completion of this course trainees will understand the responsibilities of the Basic First Aider, provide treatment for preserving life, promote recovery and prevent situations from worsening. Be able to make an emergency call and give details of the presenting condition to the emergency services. Trainees will have the skills toprovide treatment for an injury which does not require the services of a medical practitioner or nurse. This course gives a basic knowledge of first aid to the trainees, but does not make employees compliant with HSA regulations, the 3 Day FAR course and 1 Day Emergency First Aid course are required for workplace first aid.

This is a highly interactive course with practical skills assessed throughout and a written test upon completion of training.
Successful candidates will recieve a 2 year MKD Health & Safety Basic First Aid Certificate.

This course and all MKD First Aid Courses are delivered by QQI level 6 instructors who are registered PHECC FAR instructors
